Super Tuesday (Dir: Al Carretta, 2013, 71m)

SHOT BYAl Carretta

Written, produced and directed by Al Carretta.

A considered experiment in noir style made in the middle of shooting ‘Automatically Sunshine.’

There are 2.7 reasons why Presidential candidate Jack Cassidy is going to lose the election….A fictional account of the controversial 1960 US Election, Cassidy (Al Carretta) waits for the results to unfold knowing his wife Mae (Nicola McAdam) has done everything she can to sabotage his efforts.

Shot and rehearsed simultaneously in June and July at The Avenue Theatre, Sittingbourne for presentation on stage (Edinburgh Fringe) and screen, ‘Super Tuesday’ opened on Tuesday 18th August 2013 at theSpace @ Surgeons Hall, Theatre 2, Nicolson Street, Edinburgh. On the same day we released the soundtrack on iTunes and the film on Vimeo.

This version is final cut in 2:35:1 and online for the first time. What was presented online August 2013 was the first cut as it had just been finished. As with all my output, scripts (this being a prime example) have always been made with a view to being remade with bigger budgets somewhere down the line; total spend on this, including the Edinburgh run, was about £3k.
