Adapt by Filipe DeAndrade

I was 5 years old when we came to America from Brasil. We had no citizenship, no money and I had a tenuous grasp on the English Language. To make things a little more difficult, my father was addicted to drugs and extremely abusive. So at 5 years old, I learned my most important life lesson. Adapt.
“Adapt” won the National Geographic Wild’s 2nd annual “Wild to Inspire” competition at the Sun Valley Film Festival in 2015. In partnership with the African Wildlife Foundation, Filipe will travel to Africa and produce another film.
