SPINN CP Camera Strap – Edition 2023 on Kickstarter

SPINN.DESIGN is back on Kickstarter and recently launched their campaign introducing the SPINN CP camera strap – Edition 2023. It’s designed to hold any DSLR or mirrorless camera on the photographer in a safe and quickly accessible position. Made from recycled raw materials, this minimalist camera-carrying system promises fast action and secure transportation. Their campaign is crowdfunding on Kickstarter through March 2, 2023. Let’s see what the SPINN CP is all about!

Back in 2019, SPINN.DESIGN successfully ran a campaign for the original SPINN CP.01 to be able to carry your camera comfortably. Now the company has created their Edition 2023 camera strap to solve one simple problem – accessibility. Professionals, adventure shooters, and street photographers all want to have fast access to their cameras at a moment’s notice. The problem with most straps, however, is that they’re mounted to the top of the camera, intended to rest in the center of your chest.

This, according to SPINN, throws off the camera’s center of balance, causes damage, and can get tangled very quickly.

SPINN’s answer was to create a camera strap that is bottom-balanced and designed to be worn underslung in a crossbody/sling position. They didn’t exactly re-invent the wheel here, we’ve seen a similar approach from companies such as Peak Design in the past already.

Their solution begins with their CP.02 and CP.BG camera plates. The CP.02’s slim design allows for a firm connection to the bottom of the camera while not blocking the battery and media doors. It repositions the strap mounting points to the bottom of the camera with a wide base that allows the camera to rest comfortably behind the shooter.

As an added bonus, the CP.02 plate also features an ARCA SWISS camera plate for compatible quick-release tripods and monopods.

The CP.BG offers all the same benefits as the CP.02, but it is larger and intended for use with a battery grip.

Their lightweight pro camera strap is the second component in their effort to provide a better shooting experience. It is crafted out of recycled polyester and woven to slide smoothly over clothing.

The adjustable straps are made from carbon fiber-reinforced polyamide. The absence of metal and rounded-off strap edges are intended to save your expensive camera equipment from dings and scratches.

SPINN’s straps are available in 5 different colors: grey, black, blue, red and army green. The baseplate is also compatible with any other camera strap, including Peak Design Anchor Links.
