MusicBed AI Search Launched – New Ways to Find Your Music

MusicBed AI Search Launched - New Ways to Find Your Music

Founded in 2011, MusicBed is considered one of the leading online music platforms. Now, they have announced the release of new AI tools that should help filmmakers discover the right music for the right project fast. Search by song, song segment, and similar songs, and with the added quick preview, narrow down what you’re looking for in a lot less time. So, with that said, let’s have a closer look!

I can barely keep up with the rapid pace of AI software releases and updates – each time a new one pops up, it seems to outshine the one before it – always aiming for better, faster, and more. However, in a market already crowded with a variety of diverse programs, MusicBed is way up there as a respected, highly curated company used by brands the likes of Google and Nike, plus entertainment giants like Lionsgate, Netflix, Sony Pictures, and more.

MusicBed’s new AI search tools

Now, MusicBed has integrated new AI-powered search tools to help filmmakers reduce the time spent looking for the perfect music for their projects. If you’re in search of the perfect tune, you can give this a try:

  • Search by song: Submit any artist or song worldwide, and MusicBed will provide similar options.
  • Search by song segment: If there’s just a section of a song you like, submit just that part to narrow down a search.
  • Similar song: When searching by song, click ‘show similar’ to get similar songs by different artists and in different genres.
  • Quick preview: Activate this while you search, and automatically hear a part of the song that will give you a good idea of its entirety (meaning, not at the very beginning….).

But you want Beyoncé and only Beyoncé…

MusicBed will also help you license any song in the world. You tell them the exact song and artist you’re interested in and give them your budget – they do all the rest.

Even without requesting a license for Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em, I’ll admit that I didn’t click on many songs in any genre that I didn’t find exceptional. There was one I liked so much that I looked it up on Spotify to add to my favorites – but alas, it was a no-go. The artist was represented, but that particular song is only to be had on MusicBed.

The competition is eclectic and there’s a lot of it

Ultimately, it all depends on the music you like, the license you require, and your needs regarding a music platform. We wrote about AI tools for audio, which gave a good overview of what’s available for filmmakers in general, i.e. text to speech and working with AI to create your own music tracks. But there are many other choices. For example, Audiio Originals collaborates with artists, and Filmstro lets users customize their royalty-free music tracks.

There are also platforms like Audio Network – I’ve used them in the past and could choose a song, buy the appropriate license, and Basta. For 11 bucks, I got a nice little song for a short wedding video. Yes, it’s made for sync, but in most cases, that’s enough for me. Alternatively, you can also license one of MusicBed’s songs starting at $69, depending on client type and/or size. Again, it depends on your budget, what you need, and how you feel about the music itself.
