Anton/Bauer Compact Battery Range - Titon Micro, Base and GO 90 Batteries Released

Anton/Bauer, the battery specialized company, has just announced the expansion of its range of compact batteries with new solutions: the Titon Micro, Titon Base, and GO 90 batteries. Let’s take a closer look at all these new compact power solutions for filmmakers!

Anton/Bauer Titon Micro

The Anton/Bauer Titon Micro are compact batteries available in either V-Mount or Gold-Mount options. Three sizes are available: 47Wh, 94Wh, and 140Wh. In terms of dimensions, all batteries are 3.9″/10cm high and 2.9″/7.5cm wide. The depth of the battery depends on the model you choose: the Micro 45 is 1.4″/3.6cm deep, while the Micro 90 is 2.1″/5.2cm and the Micro 150 is 2.9″/6.8cm.

On top of the batteries, all models feature a high-speed USB port, as well as a P-Tap output part that doubles as a charging port. On the side of the battery, there is a 5-step LED fuel gauge that shows you the battery status.

You can use the Titon Micro batteries in challenging shooting conditions from -20°C to 60°C. The Titon Micro 45 can take an 8A continuous draw, while the Titon Micro 90 & 150 can take a 10A continuous draw.

An optional dual micro battery mounting plate allows twice the power in half the size of a regular battery. Also, you can hot-swap batteries from the plate.

Anton/Bauer GO 90

Next are Anton/Bauer GO 90 batteries. These 98Wh V-Mount or Gold-Mount 14.4V batteries are lightweight (1.54lbs/0.7kg) and what Anton/Bauer calls “low-cost batteries.” They are only available in one capacity and can take a continuous 8A power draw, which can be limiting for powerful LED lights.

These Anton/Bauer GO 90 batteries are not compact but they are relatively slim with dimensions of 1.8 x 5.9 x 3.7in/47 x 152 x 95mm.

On the side of the batteries, there is a 5-step LED fuel gauge, and weather-resistant P-Tap port plus high-speed USB port on top.

Anton/Bauer Titon Base

Last but not least, Anton/Bauer released the Titon Base. Let’s face it, the concept of this product looks a lot like the Core SWX Powerbase EDGE that we reviewed.

However, the Anton/Bauer Titon Base does some things differently:

  • The Titon Base has a better 68Wh capacity vs. 49Wh for the Core SWX model.
  • The Titon Base does feature 3 P-Tap output/charging ports and one USB port. The Core SWX Powerbase EDGE only has two P-Tap output ports but two USB ports.
  • Both models feature an LCD fuel gauge that shows runtime and charge capacity.
  • Also, both the Anton/Bauer and the Core SWX batteries mount to your camera via a detachable baseplate offering a 1/4″ -20 inch screw.
  • At the bottom of the Anton/Bauer Titon Base, there are three 1/4″-20 mounting points, whereas the Core SWX Powerbase EDGE uses a V-Mount standard at the bottom.
  • Finally, the Titon Base is slimmer at 3.9 x 5.5 x 1.1in/10 x 14 x 2.9cm compared to the bigger Core SWX model at 3.6 x 5.1 x 1.6in/ 12.95 x 9.14 x 4.06cm.

Pricing and Availability

The Anton/Bauer Titon Base will be available as a standalone version for $240 or $299 if you add a battery cable with it. The Titon Base will be available at the end of October.

All Titon Micro should be available at the end of October. The Titon Micro 45 is $250, the Micro 90 is $325, and the Micro 150 is $399. These prices are in-line with other existing solutions like the Bebob Micro batteries, for example.

Finally, the Go 90 batteries will be available by the end of this month for $225.
