Up in the AER: Toss Your GoPro for Fun

Ever have that moment on set where throwing your camera seems, for a fleeting moment, like a good idea? Well, now thanks to the new AER Kickstarter campaign you can, and the camera may even survive the trip and bring back great video too! Find out how below:

Not a fan of drones, or maybe just don’t want the headache of going through the new FAA registration process?  No problem. The AER, created by a Netherlands based company, kinda, sorta, not really solves that with a throwable waterproof case that protects your GoPro Hero 3+, 4 and 5 as it flies through the air to one of your buddies.

A foam bumper leaves the GoPro camera view unobstructed on its journey through the air and cushions the camera upon landing. Possible uses for this tool could be for shots requiring the POV of a spinning ball, or dropping it off the side of a building to show the POV of anything falling.

Or just bring it to the park and have fun with the kids.

I think they missed a marketing opportunity here. This product definitely reminds me of old NERF toy commercials from the 90’s. This video is ridiculous and worth a watch:

Standout Features:

  • You can throw it.
  • You can catch it.
  • It holds a GoPro Hero 3+, 4 and 5.
  • Waterproof.
  • Great birthday gift for Director of Photography friends.

The AER is made from molded expanded polypropylene (Wings/Bumper) and molded polypropylene (Head).

Look, it’s $55, and it seems really fun. Can’t think of any way to use it? Have a PA hold it on standby, call it the angry cam, and if you go two hours over schedule then give it a really hard toss. The project needs $78,000 in the next 34 days to be completely funded and enter into production.
