September 30th, 2015 Jump to Comment Section 7

This $6,200 wireless follow focus left us impressed. The affordable TiltaMax Wireless Lens Control System comes with many useful features. Check out the video for a complete guided tour by Yang Shao from Tilta.

$6,200 may sound like a lot, but for a quality wireless follow focus system that’s quite a bargain. On top Tilta offers a number of great features, a compact package and great versatility.

Tilta also offers a single-motor unit that comes without the screen and will cost $2,500 – $3,000. Both devices will have a range of up to 300 meters to match their wireless video transmitter and come with all cables, motors and receivers needed to start operation.

In terms of battery options they will work with Sony or Canon batteries with switchable plates. On the larger unit both the zoom remote as well as the focus wheel can be detached for use by multiple operators and the device has an operating system that is fully adaptable to any lens you might use.

This wireless follow focus looks and feels really interesting. The release is planned for the end of October.
