Three New Super-Wide Full-Frame Voightlander E Mount Lenses

Three new super-wide Voightlander E Mount lenses promise to be some of the widest rectilinear full frame lenses in the world. In fact the 10mm Heliar Hyper-Wide f/5.6 Aspherical is currently the widest in the world with a 130 degree field of view and very little if any distortion.

The trio consist of the 10mm Heliar Hyper-Wide (f/5.6), a 12mm f/5.6 and a 15mm f/4.5 in Sony E mount covering full frame 35mm. The 10mm should be available from May, the 15mm from April and the 12mm from August with prices likely to be between $1000 and $1400 each. The 10mm and 15mm specifications are given on the Cosina website.

Voightlander, built by Cosina in Japan, are known for the highest build quality, all metal construction and an old-world solid feel that is somewhat rare in new lenses today.

The all-manual lenses are designed with both stills and video in mind, featuring an iris ring that can be de-clicked just by adjusting a ring on the iris. The lenses communicate lens data with the camera that is used for manual focus assist and information that is used for 5-axis sensor stabilisation.
