Film sets can be quite dangerous environments. For people who are not used to being on sets (believe it or not, those people do exist!), all the technology on a full-blown commercial set can be quite overwhelming at best, and hazardous at worst.
Typically, when I have a client on set, we build them a little video village which gives them a chance to see what we are shooting on a dedicated client monitor. I do this in a small way even if the budget is tight (which is becoming the norm these days).
Radian MC wireless video transmitter on top of the camera on a recent corporate shoot.
Continuing the drone copter theme (although this product will most certainly have other uses), the DJI LightBridge is a digital transmitter, capable of carrying full HD video of distances up to 5km (3.1 miles).
Pixel LV-W1 Wireless Live View Remote Control.
The Pixel LV-W1 wireless live view remote control should work for both stills and video. The 2.4ghz transmitter mounts on the hot shoe adapter and connects via the USB port on the camera. The signal is sent to a 3″ LCD monitor. I contacted the company and they currently only sell directly. No mention of price that I can see. They responded very quickly to my email. There is one on ebay selling for $335 US out of Poland. A Big THANK YOU to Joe Womble for bringing this to my attention. Keep the emails coming!
