Sony has announced their new Super 35 CMOS sensor video camera. The NEX-FS100 has a ton of great features. It has an internal built in hard drive that will let you record up to ten hours at 24 Mbps. It will record to SD cards and SXS cards. It also has the ability to shoot full HD in multiple frame rates. Price estimate is around $6K US. There are more videos from Crews.TV Here. Here is a rip from Videomaker Mag. “Besides the obvious benefits of a large sensor, Sony has also included a viewfinder system that can be rotated more than 90 degrees to each side of the camera, a shotgun microphone with a horizontal and vertical adjustable mount, 2 XLR inputs (thank goodness for that), the ability to simultaneously record to both an SD card and Sony’s own flash memory unit, undercranking to 1 fps and overcranking up to 60 fps, a host of 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch threads for mounting all kinds of accessories, the ability to isolate audio channels in the headphones, 1080p HDMI output with timecode, GPS, a removable hand grip, a touch screen, and a host of external controls such as white balance, shutter speed, gain, histogram, zebra, S&Q, and peaking. The camera films at either 1080p (60p/30p/24p), 720p, and 480i in the AVCHD format giving you every kind of frame rate imaginable. H. Paul Moon posted this teaser video of the New Sony NXCAM HD Super 35mm camera. This looks to be a killer camera. The new Sony will accept PL Mount lenses with an adapter. Sony has also announced a few PL Mount prime lenses. The new primes are 35mm, 50mm and 85mm all T2.0. Here is a rip from H.Paul Moon’s Vimeo page. The estimated street price is around $6K. “Sony is developing their follow-up to the NEX-VG10, just as expected, to address the complaints, the needs, and the pockets of professionals. Although the NXCAM HD will use the same E-mount lens system as the NEX-VG10, its sensor will exceed the size of APS-C with a Super 35mm frame and true native 1080p resolution to prevent aliasing/moiré.
