Photo Cine Expo was a great experience for Team C5D. We really appreciate all of the comments and feedback from the viewers. The Expo was held at the Los Angeles Film School here in Hollywood. It was a crazy two days, we were lucky enough to get the scoop on the new RRM EVF and also got to check out some other gear ready to finally hit the market. The new 5″ Marshall monitor is kick ass. We were also really impressed with the tiny Que Audio Eng kit. We are going to put that little bad boy up against our Sennheiser MKE 400 this week. We brought in a little extra help from El Skid and Chris Marino. They were the coolest. The best part of the expo was the community that has formed around the cameras. We were sharing gear all weekend long with everyone there. That is what makes this so much fun. Thanks to all the C5D viewers for your support. We could not do this without you. We are headed to Dv Expo in Pasadena to hunt for more cool gear to show you. James Lee from 16 X 9 Inc. shows off the new DV balancer rig from Chrosziel. The rig is super lightweight and has a very simple system of keying into the Chrosziel DSLR baseplate making it a very fast change from studio to handheld mode. We really dig Chrosziel AKS and use them on a regular basis for Cinema 5D. Snehal Patel from the DSLR Bootcamp was kind enough to answer a few questions about his workshops. The DSLR bootcamps have been a great resource for filmmakers getting into the HDSLR game. Snehal is a Director and Cinematographer who shares his real world experiences with his students to give them one of the best workshops money can buy. We got the chance to check out the new ENG audio kit from Que Audio. The really tiny ENG kit has everything right out of the box for electronic news gathering. It retails for just under $500 US. The kit comes with everything you would need to capture great audio. Here is a list from Que Audio. 1 QCBL2 2000mm compact to compact cable for MSG1 1 QB1 Base for Mini Boom Pole 1 QBAG1 ENG Kit Bag 1 QCBL1 Extension Cable for ENG Kit 1 QHS1 Folding Headphones 1 QMB1 Mini Boom Pole 1 QMSG1 Mini Shot Gun Microphone inc Wind sock 1 QSM1 Shockmount for Mini Shot Gun Microphone 1 QWJ1 The original WOMBAT Fluffy Windjammer for Mini Shotgun Microphone 1 DAAD TRL TRS 3.5mm Adapter BlackRead more

We got the chance to ask Vincent Laforet a few questions about moving from Stills to Motion Photography. He is teaching a Masterclass at Photo Cine Expo 2010 and we were lucky enough to hang out with him for a bit. Vincent is very passionate about filmmaking and storytelling and it shows every time we see him.Read more

Photo Cine Expo 2010 is just around the corner and C5D will be there with guns blazing. There will be a bevy of industry leaders like Shane Hurlbut ASC, Vincent Laforet, Rodney Charters ASC and Alex Buono there, speaking and teaching seminars. Tons of new HDSLR related equipment will also be shown at the expo. We will be shooting interviews and product demos the first day and speaking a little the second. I will be speaking on Sunday September 26th from 1:30pm until 2:30pm. It would be great to have C5D get together. I will try to answer any many HDSLR related questions as I can. Here is the expo schedule. Team C5D will be in full effect. Chris Collins our main shooter for these events, will be there as well as an additional cameraman/editor we are bringing in from San Francisco. Chris Marino will be handling most of the post the first day. We hope to get a few interviews up within the first few hours of the expo. Stay tuned here for up to the minute info on any new products that may appear at Photo Cine Expo 2010. Here is a rip from their site. Check out the expo info here.
