Vincent Laforet & Creative Live HDSLR Workshop
Vincent Laforet will be teaching a three day intensive workshop with Creative Live this weekend. The Dates are April 30th, 2010 through May 2nd, 2010. 9am to 6pm PST. If you tune in during the workshop it’s free. It will also be available to download for $79 (Pre-Purchase) if you can’t make it. The Schedule is posted on his blog. Here is a quote from Part II “Narrative Shoot”
“Students will break up into various roles and shoot a short narrative piece together – utilizing the tools and techniques discussed over the prior two days. This will give us a chance to see everything come together – and also to pick up on some very common mistakes that first time filmmakers make.”
Three days is just about enough time to actually learn how to use these cameras properly. This will be a great opportunity for both newcomers and veterans to learn from one of the top HDSLR shooters in the field.

Recently Canon held a seminar discussing the future of its video camcorders. HD and flash memory were some of the topics discussed at the seminar. In 2009 Canon released nine new flash based camcorders, only one new camcorder using tape. The “Future” could spell the end of tape-based cameras for Canon.
I can sense the fear in the Canon Video Division. They are clearly out of touch with their market.
