Filmmakers around the world have mentioned the Great Camera Shootout 2011, hosted by Zacuto many times this year, and while some people got the chance to see the resulting footage in full resolution in a theatre the rest of us has been waiting for Zacuto to publish it on the web.
And finally, the first episode is here and I cannot stress enough that if you’re a camera person you really shouldn’t miss the chance to see this beautifully edited piece of well done camera comparison!

Here is a little Time Displacement video sent in by C5D Viewer Berkan Is. This is some very cool VFX. There was not a ton of info about the process. It was shot using a Canon 5D Mark II with a Canon 17-40mm f4 Zoom Lens.Read more

Jason Ano sent me this link to an audio interview he did with film director Quentin Dupieux. According to Mr. Oizo, he used the inexpensive Canon lenses to shoot his film “Rubber”.He seems to think it is more about the camera and less about the lenses. The film looks pretty good.
