Soundstripe Cuts Prices for Their Music Licenses
Soundstripe, a site that’s relative new to the music licensing market, has just slashed its already affordable prices. They will now be offering a single price for universal use of their tracks, no questions asked.
A couple of months ago we reported on the current landscape in the music licensing market, and the advantages and disadvantages of certain providers, in the hopes of helping you find the best bang for your buck. One the sites that caught our attention was Soundstripe.com, a newcomer to the fray, that offers universal use of their licensed tracks for the attractive price of $10/month or $97/year.
But there was one caveat: this offer only applied to their most basic use with an audience of up to 50k. If you expected a larger audience, the prices increased accordingly. However, as by their press release from earlier today, the folks over at Soundstripe have just changed their terms and conditions:
“You can’t pay to rent one movie from Netflix. Spotify doesn’t charge you extra whether you listen to 15 songs or 15,000 songs. Uber doesn’t charge extra if you bring three buddies along on your ride. We’ve taken note and now we’re taking action.”
Starting today, the lower-tier Soundstripe prices will apply across the board: $10/month or $97/year for unlimited downloads, no questions asked. This will apply to existing, as well as any future customers, which puts Soundstripe in a very competitive position, and on an even playing field with Art-List.io, another affordable music licensing site launched earlier this year that we also reported on. You can read our interview with the founder of Art-List here.

Thanks for sharing, never heard of this site… checked it out, love the simple layout to find/discover the music. Sometimes we creatives ‘need a nudge” to explore different services that can help us create.
