Panolapse - Adding motion to static timelapses

Our friends over at Planet5D published an interesting article a few days ago. Panolapse, a handy bit of software that adds motion to static timelapses.

The promo video below clearly demonstrates how it works.

A quote from the website. “The concept of Panolapse is similar to 360° panorama viewers. Panolapse uses perspective correction to rotate the camera through a scene over multiple frames to create an animation.”

The use of fish eye/ultra wide angle lenses is key here to give you space to move within the frame.

Whilst it doesn’t replace the need to motion controlled device, it has potential to add a bit of spice to an otherwise static shot.

The software is free for outputs up to 1280X720, and costs $64.95 for unlimited resolution. It’s available for both pc and mac.
