Footage from $6300 Kinefinity KineRAW S35 [UPDATE: pricing]
The basic kit lacks HD-SDI and WiFi (these are added extras) but you won’t be facing the kind of additional expense that a Red Scarlet body entails. 3 XLR audio jacks, HDMI for monitoring and standard generic SSD drives are the order of the day for the basic Kineraw kit.

Dan Chung posted a new clip shot on the Chinese KineRAW S35 camera (read our previous article with hands-on here) with its intriguing $6300 pricetag. The clip is rather short but shows the nice filmic look of 2K RAW footage we’d expect.
The footage was shot using a Nikon 17-35mm lens (…) recording format was 2K using Cineform 12bit RAW.
I downloaded the source file from the vimeo page and grabbed one of the sharpest frames. Even though it’s filmic one can see a lot of noise and the sharpness is certainly lower than we’re used to from Alexa or C300 (which are both only HD resolution) footage. But this shot with the pre-production model. Let’s give this camera a little more time.
