Edelkrone Motor Modules for Slider Plus

Target Module

Last month we talked about the imminent release of the Kessler Parallax, a mechanical bolt on device to Kessler’s sliders that provides consistent dynamic motion camera tracks.

Edelkrone have been working on a similar product to which they have now released – the Target Module, a motor controlled device that bolts directly to the Edelkrone Slider Plus, providing the same ‘wrap around’ dynamic motion to a camera track.

It comes as a dual release with the Edelkrone Wizard Module, which transforms the Slider Plus into an electronic motion-controlled slider. See the below video for an overview of the Wizard Module:

As you can see the module uses a fairly basic user operation interface. From what I can see this relies solely on taking the average of a manual camera move, meaning that it will only really work for real-time camera moves; If recording a camera move for a time-lapse, you’d be there for hours!
The sound of the motor is a little concerning also; it would be tricky to record clean audio whilst operating this. For these reasons it may well have limited application.

The Target Module builds upon the design of the Wizard. It utilizes a similar bolt on motor module to the Slider Plus, with an addition of a panning head mounted to the carriage.

EDIT: I’ve included below the latest product video for the Target. This is much more informative than the initial video. The addition of the L bracket looks nice, enabling the Target to work off different Axis’.

Both modules will take an array of battery options, including popular Canon LP-E6, Sony NP-Fs and Panasonic.

Edelkrone are working towards becoming a global retailer, but currently only their EU site is working so prices are listed in Euros. The Target and Wizard Modules are priced at €589.99 and €439.99 and are available to purchase now.
