Edelkrone Craft Module - Motorized Timelapse for SliderPLUS

Edelkrone Craft

We’ve seen a few motorized modules trickle out over the last few months from Edelkrone. We first saw the Target and Wizard modules, providing us with dynamic motion and real time motion control respectively. Edelkrones latest motorized offering is the called the Craft, a motorized module for timelapse and stop motion photography.

Like all Edelkrone modules, the controls are very basic and easy to operate. It quite literally ask you questions, and you simply provide it the answers, watch the below video:

The simple navigation is nice, simply tell it your required duration and IN/OUTs and you’re ready to shoot. Equally as simple is the Crafts stop motion function; shoot a frame, and press the button for the next movement.

I really like the look of the macro Edelkrone Craftslide feature; these types of moves are limited to motorized control only due to the minute precision required and therefore offer a pretty unique way of shooting.

The Craft is designed to work with Edelkrone sliders only, and does so by attaching quickly to the end of the SliderPLUS via two thumb screws.

It runs off AC or DC power, and is compatible with popular camera battery platforms such as Canon LP-E6, Sony NP-FVs and Panasonic CGA-D54.

Whilst it doesn’t come to close in terms of complexity and flexibility to Kessler devices, which have much more accurate control for ramped moves, multi axis and workflows for eliminating blur on shutters, the price and speed-of-use of the Edelkrone Craft Module no doubt offers something far different and quite unique.
