Cinema 5D Interview With Lucasfilm's Mike Blanchard NAB 2010.
Mike Blanchard from Lucasfilm is just as excited as we are about our little DSLR’s. He describes how the price and availability of the cameras and editing software has opened the door for anyone to make a good looking film. Mike has been using DSLR’s to shoot Lucasfilm’s “Red Tails”. He makes the point to stay away from the numbers. It’s all about the final product. Canon should pay attention to the final part of the interview.
Fantastic – very positive outlook.
Hell yeah… makes me proud to be a DSLR filmmaker. 7d for the win.
PS. Its so true about what Mike says in this clip. I worked on a major feature in South Africa that shot on RED ONE and ARRI D21. I shot some pic ups on the 7D. And its insane how well the 7D cuts in with the Big boys. On a 40 foot cinema screen, it holds up there with the RED and ARRI. Truly mind blowing.
I have a 5D and a 7D and whenever I show the footage off on my 14ft projection screen people can’t believe how good it looks! Everything that he says is so true, I hope Canon jumps on this faster than they have been… Again I love these cameras!
