Cinema 5D Interview With Duclos Lenses. 70-200mm Cine Mod.

I stopped by Duclos Lenses and asked Matthew Duclos a few questions. The Duclos modified Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 Zoom Lens has been around for some time. They are in the process of converting the new Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 into a cinema style lens. The new lens will no longer have a “reverse” focus. The iris will be click-less and manually controlled. The Vibration Reduction has been removed and there will be proper cinema markings on the exterior of the lens. It will be available in PL, EF or Nikon mounts. The newly designed lens should be available this winter. No mention of price yet.

Duclos has been modifying lenses for some time and they have a really cool delrin lens gear that is pressure mounted. The delrin gear will fit on most lenses and is only around $100 mounted. Matthew also discuses image shift, or what is commonly know as “breathing” in still lenses versus cinema lenses.
