Canon 7D PL Mount Hot Rod Cameras. Quick Take.

Here is a quick take on the Hot Rod Cameras PL Mount Canon 7D. I got the chance to shoot with it ( Footage Soon) and set it up with an Angenieux 25mm-250mm HR Zoom Lens over at Birns and Sawyer, Hollywood. I decided to go with the Really Right Stuff mounting brackets to prevent camera shift. The Hot Rod Cameras 7D does everything that you would expect from a Canon 7D, without the mirror. The camera is Rock Solid! Now you can use real expensive cinema lenses, distance marks, follow focus, zoom motors and wireless follow focus units.

The Really Right Stuff B7D plate has a small lip that keeps the camera from shifting. The B7D Plate is square and can adjust front to back or camera left to right in tandem with the B2 LR II bottom plate. This was very useful to get the lens centered with the 4 x 5 Arri matte box. Hunter Kerhart hooked up the camera and edit for this little demo. Eventually we are going to hook up an IDX wireless HD transmitter to work with the Marshall 7″ on board monitor to transmit to a 17″ HD Director’s monitor. By the time we get that together they will have figured out an app to transmit wireless video to an iPad.
