Canon 1DC – now available & in stock

January 12th, 2013 Jump to Comment Section

I think this is worth mentioning. A very strong competitor in the HDSLR and large sensor camera realm has arrived and is available in limited stock.

While the price of $11,999 isn’t really a bargain (initially announced for $15k), this camera does has some very interesting specs for professional videographers and filmmakers. Many have been waiting for this camera since its initial announcement in April of 2012.

Here are the details for those who have forgotten what the Canon 1DC is about:
Internal 4K (4,096 x 2,160) recording with 4:2:2 colour
_sampling (direct to CF cards)
8-bit Motion JPEG compression
high ISO sensitivity up to 25,600
Clean HDMI out (Full HD, 4:2:2, too bad, no SDI)
Canon Log Gamma
24p support during 4K shooting
24, 25, 30, 50 and 60p frame rate support in Full HD
_(1920x1080p) resolution
Full-frame sensor with crop support (APS-H, Super 35mm)
