Canon announced the release of the 1D Mark IV. The latest HDSLR to hit the streets could be the best yet. The 1D Mark IV has an APS-H sensor with a 1.3 crop factor, similar to the size of Super 35mm motion picture film. The ability to shoot video at 12,800 ISO in 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60 FPS.

It looks like the audio is still a weak point with this HDSLR, with only a mini stereo audio input for sound recording. The LP-E6 batteries that work with the 5D and 7D will not work with the 1D, it takes LP-E4’s. The live view LCD will still be lost when using an on board or Director’s monitor. But with all of the other improvements who can complain.

****UPDATE****
