Finished my 'SUSIS' shoulder rig. After a few prototypes, I got it all figured out. The rig is really well balanced, strong build and has a good wheight while being not too heavy. (1,6kg) (2,3kg with juicedlink preamp)
It cost me les than €20. I found the SUSIS 800 car mount on a fleemarket for €4. I already had the handles and the nuts, bolts and brackets cost €10 or so.

The key part is a second hand 'SUSIS 800' car mount. I got rid of the suction part and flipped the middel part so I could attach the manfrotto quick release plate.

I thought I should add that it looks great though!

Another thing is I looked up that SUSIS 800 part and couldn't find it anywhere...so I wonder what could work in its place?

It is extremly easy to build. I believe any DIY-er could rebuild it if you take a good look at the detailed pictures in the Flickr set.

I have send them an email to find out how much this susis 800 costs, if they still make them. I am shure there should be other types of car-mounts that are similar and could work as well.

You can rent a SUSIS 800 here :-) http://www.be-verleih.com/produkte/stative/susis_800

Thanks for the nice replies guys.

Just got a reply from SUSIS. Seems that the SUSIS 800 costs €135. I expected it to be a bit cheaper to be honnest.
I'd say: Let the search for more budget alternatives begin and build this kick ass RIG :-)
