Australian microphone manufacturer RØDE is hosting a short film competition again that closes in about 2 weeks. Entrants are asked to create short films of up to 5 minutes in length, and the only requirement is to shoot a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot which has a RØDE microphone in one of the shots – easy. Prizes are quite amazing, total worth $70,000, including RØDE gear as well as jibs, lenses, cameras, software and much more (click here for details).Read more

Fellow Austrian HDSLR shooters Nino Leitner, Alexander Boboschewski and their friend Mario Feil got the chance to test the yet unreleased Canon EOS C300 camera. They teamed up to get dirty with it and created an entire short film in two days time (see result above).
Nino says they will publish the source files soon. So if you want to play with a little C300 footage and test it for yourselves stay tuned.

This music video was submitted by director Ian Bucknole last week and caught my attention not only because of it’s high rating.
Videos that combine a great story, good looks, style, enriching artwork and good acting are not often shot on a 5D and 550D like in this case. In fact this one was done with a budget of under $1k.
