For anyone keeping up to date with MFT news will be aware of this little beauty – the Panasonic Lumix GX7, a compact mirrorless 16-megapixel micro 4/3s camera, with similar video functions to the flagship GH3.
The GX7 is Panasonic’s latest release in their Lumix G line. The predecessor GX1 fell a little short in the video department, with capped bitrates for video, and no manual exposure control (out of the box). However the GX7 looks set to be a great contender for an ultra compact video camera, albeit one major sting in it’s tail (more on that later)....

Black Magic were interviewed at Broadcast Asia 2013 by Dan Chang from newsshooter.com talking about the much anticipated Pocket Cinema Camera, and 4k Super35 Cinema Camera. The consensus; we will see these cameras ship by the end of July.
Despite Black Magic’s previous positive track record with product releases, the original Black Magic Cinema Camera has caused up roar with buyers as they’ve struggled to get products out of the door. This is said to be due to problems lying with the company designing the 2.5K sensor. With both new releases utilising different sensors, Black Magic have stated they won’t share the same stocking issues....
Lens adapter manufacturer Metabones surprised and intrigued us when they introduced the “Speedbooster” adapter that boosts your lenses speed by 1 f-stop and widens the field of view. What a perfect device that would solve some of the major problems of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. If only the camera were shipping yet....
You might have heard or experienced the issue yourself: Some wide angle lenses can’t be focused to infinity on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. This issue has now been addressed, but the solution won’t make current owners happy.
Blackmagic has been looking into the issue last month when it was reported. See a sample on one of the affected lenses (Tokina 11-16mm) below. ...
Blackmagic’s Cinema Camera tester John Brawley has uploaded some shots of the MFT (micro four thirds mount) version of the camera with two ultra highspeed lenses. ...
This video makes me feel hesitant about shooting on a Panasonic GH2, but the lens looks exciting. SLR magic is a lens manufactured based in Hong Kong and their affordable Noktor primes that all have an aperture of F/0.95 are very successful among HDSLR shooters.
As announced in September the company decided to start designing...

After we already looked at the Blackmagic Cinema Camera MFT last Sunday, Clayton Burkhart prepared well and had an in depth Q & A session with Soren Phillips from Blackmagic Design regarding their new Cinema Camera.
This is not a soft marketing video like many other Blackmagic interviews out there, this is 25 minutes of very informative tech and in-depth talk on some of the toughest questions Clayton could come up with. Unfortunately we couldn’t discuss all we intended to as some things were a little too sensitive there, but nevertheless Soren Phillips (from BMC camera development) had some really great answers on most of our questions.
If you’re in the business of getting a Blackmagic Cinema Camera (pre-order MFT here) then this talk will also give you some very useful insights on how to best use the camera and ...
