The solution for an affordable Scarlet-X backup workflow
When we had our first 1 day no-budget Scarlet-X shoot two weeks ago (see short and field report here) we bumped into one major problem: Backing up the data on this MacBook Pro via FW800 just took too long (30 minutes for a 64GB card) and we ended up not having a second backup (!).

Is Final Cut Pro X coming next week?
via Macrumors:
Japanese blog Macotakara reports that Apple is apparently set to launch its new Final Cut Pro X offerings next week, to be accompanied by the release of a number of new Thunderbolt-equipped accessories from third-party vendors.
As usual Apple remains silent about it’s product updates until they’re here, but according to the rumors we’ll finally see Final Cut Pro X next week alongside some new peripherals that make use of the new Thunderbolt highspeed ports. Is it the LaCie Little Big Disk that we were told would come out in spring?
At NAB 2011 in April Apple announced that Final Cut Pro X would be released in the Apple App Store by June and cost $299.
Here’s a grab of the 30 minute presentation from NAB 2011:
