IBC 2011: FLOLIGHT – affordable, quality LED & fluorescent lights
To create content we filmmakers need light like air to breathe. Sometimes the available light suffices but usually a controlled lighting setup will raise the quality and language of our content by a lot.
Luckily more and more companies that make quality lighting available for all budgets have been popping up like Coollights for example who have been around for a while and are also currently running a banner on our site, Flolight, a company we found at IBC.
I reported about the Flolight specialized greenscreen LED last month. Here’s some of the rest of their lineup.
What caught my eye about this company is that the quality of their LED is very good and the price is absolutely right. The materials aren’t fancy aircraft aluminum or anything and the stands are basic, but they serve the purpose and the light output deserves respect.
Remember Dedo Weigert saying that a CRI value (light quality) of 84 is really good? Well the Flolights seem to have an in your face value of 93. When the lady assistant told me this I said: “Yeah right” but when she turned on the light and it was a pure white, no magenta or green I started to doubt my skepticism.
So if you’re into lighting this company is definitely worth checking out
You can see and buy the other Flolight products on their website.
