Kessler Parallax – mechanical panning add-on for sliders
Kessler used to be called Kessler Crane, but they have long moved beyond cranes – with many other products. First and foremost their sliders, they have taken the filmmaking world by storm (and I have to add, if you look at the quality they deliver, quite rightfully so).

Trends of NAB 2013: Camera Stabilization
NAB 2013 has been over for over a week now, and it’s time to reflect on what this year’s big trends were. It definitely wasn’t a year of huge innovation in the camera sector (despite the S35 Blackmagic Design 4K camera), it felt more like an evolutionary step. 4K is definitely still the buzzword whereas 3D seems to be almost dead. (Watch NextWaveDV’s NAB 2013 “bloggers breakfast” where we discussed much of that together with our friends from other blogs by clicking here.)
Nothing is as sexy as new cameras for readers, but the one trend that clearly was showing this year was camera stabilization, in various forms: there was a lot of noteworthy innovation in a sector that was ripe for innovation. New sliders, jibs, copters and handheld rigs stole the show.

Laforet Tells All At Masters In Motion Conference
[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/32847347[/vimeo]

Masters In Motion was three day educational and networking event held at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas. The conference included three days seminars by Tom Guilmette, Joe Simon, Vincent Laforet, Philip Bloom, Tyler Ginter, Khalid Mohtaseb, Jonathon Bregel and Adam Forgione.
On Tuesday, attendees were treated to a live demonstration of the powers of the Phantom Flex camera by none other than Vincent Laforet. After Laforet drove the camera and staff to the limit, he opened the floor up for questions, and as you might imagine, the topic on everyone’s mind was his short film Mobius produced with the Canon C300.
Masters In Motion was produced by Cristina Valdiviazo and Jon Connor of Shoot Edit Learn in conjunction with Kessler Crane. If you weren’t able to attend, check out a day by day chronology of all the events at www.kessleru.com
