HDSLR Front Man Vincent Laforet put up this VW spec spot on his blog. It was shot with a Canon 1D Mark IV in Downtown Los Angeles in two days. I don’t really know why it took so long, but it came out pretty cool. Vincent has always been great about sharing his secrets. There are tons of Behind The Scenes Photos and information. The free sharing of information is what makes the HDSLR community so strong.
More DSLR Footage From The Show “24â€.
[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/9243537[/vimeo]
Here is take two form the plate shots used on the show “24″. Â This one is a little more in-depth than take one. We get a little pressure here for Canon to finally make some cine-style lenses for the new breed of DSLR’s. Did he really say “First Unit”? I can’t wait to see that.
Get Schooled on DSLR at No Film School.
Ryan Bilsborrow-Koo wrote a great long format article covering the basics of shooting video with a DSLR. This even handed intro to DSLR film making sums it all up very nicely. Â I would suggest doing your own research before buying any of the recommended products in this review, as so much of this equipment needs to be tailored to fit the users needs. If you are brand new to DSLR film making this will answer many of your questions as it reads like a “Best OF” the Cinema5D forum. If you are a pro and have been shooting with a DSLR for some time you may find a new trick or two to add to you repertoire.
HBO Testing The Canon 1D Mark IV For New Pilot "LUCK"

David Presley after a long night of "Testing".
By: Jared Abrams
I got the chance to hang out with David Presley this weekend during some tests of the new Canon 1D Mark IV for an upcoming pilot for HBO called “LUCK”. David is Michael Mann’s main guy in the video department. He was doing some tests of the rolling shutter on the 1D. We set up some duvetyne above this white on white ceiling fan to get some strobing at fast shutter speeds. The HBO pilot is based on horse racing and David wanted to try to use DSLR’s because of their size and image quality. I set him up with Birns and Sawyer who had the only 1D in town.
