IBC 2011: ANDYTECH AS8 – the aerial balloon camera
At IBC we just couldn’t ignore Andy’s impressive remote controlled camera balloon that apparently can also be fitted with a DSLR, or as I later discovered even a 35mm film camera.
Andy has some other aerial camera systems, wired and heli style. Looking at the model numbers the balloon seems to be the newest kind. A non flammable, non toxic helium balloon that allows for precise and safe steering of the camera indoors or outdoors to a distance of up to 2 km. I can think of infinite uses for this machine.
You pay 5000€ to rent these guys for a two days event and they work worldwide. See the samples below, very nice footage, only recorded with the wrong cameras.
