Illya Friedman from Hot Rod Cameras stopped by my office the other day with his Canon 5D Mark II PL Mount. We have seen plenty Canon 7D mods, but this is one of the few 5D PL’s I have seen in person. I only had the camera for a few minutes. I got the chance to shoot with it and take these stills. It worked flawlessly. As you can see in the photos, the mirror has been removed and been replaced by a gate to protect the sensor. Illya brought a 50mm Zeiss
Compact Prime PL Mount with the camera. The Zeiss CP.2 Primes will have interchangeable mounts EF included. This could be the future of the 5D. No mention of price yet for the modification.
