Managed to buy one in January, suffices for my needs. I didn’t need it at the time but once it was there I realized that the larger diameter created by the gear ring means slow but precise focussing becomes easier. To rack focus by hand on a naked lens you may only turn the focus ring 1cm. With the ring and crank your may cover a distance of, say, 5cm. Makes all the difference.
Can’t wait for the 7th. I’ve been wanting to try this for a long time. Cinema 5D has our backs.
