Canonrumors says next 5D on Mon. or Tue. [UPDATE: Friday]

[UPDATE]:
Well, canonrumors was sure, but now they’ve corrected their statement. It’s not today, the supposed announcement for the new Canon 5D mark III is Friday. And some pictures of the new camera just came in here: link

I’ve been holding off posting the recent rumors about the 5D replacement (mark III?), but now canonrumors says this rumor can be treated as a fact, the Canon EOS 5D mark II replacement seems to be on its way and we should see it early next week.

This is a post copied from canonrumors.com:

5D Mark III/X
Below are the specs for the coming 5D replacement, the full name of the camera is currently unknown.

Specs
– 22mp
– 61pt AF
– 100% VF
– 3.2″ LCD
– Dual CF/SD Card Slots
– Price: Around $3500 USD
– Announcement on February 27 or 28, 2012 (Depending where you are on earth)

So this pretty much confirms what we’ve been saying for a while now.

The 5D mark 3 is sometimes also referred to as “5D mark X” (the X’es are confusing though, aren’t they?)

At one point I read the mark III is rumored to have “Best HD video quality of any EOS camera”. This sounds nice however is very unlikely and I presume we’ll see something in the EOS 1D X range of video, which will be just alright for most of us and we’d finally see a more affordable improved Canon HDSLR.
